windows 7 pro cannot join a NT4 domain ... if I forgot to post this the week before

printmanagement.msc and push printer out in a windows 2008 domain

printmanagement.msc and push printer out in a windows 2008 domain

you add the print server role, and you can deploy the printers via printmanagement.msc which in turn creates group policy.

for 32bit pushprinterconnections.exe for windows xp

Dont believe that Alan  Morris from MS , he kept posting the link, but the real  link is (I quote)
- Download the adminpack for Windows Server 2003 R2 (x86), you need the tool "pmcmgmt.exe". Link to the package:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9bfb44f5-232a-4fb5-bc14-45bfd81b7ac1&displaylang=en
- Install it on a Windows XP client.
- Copy pushprinterconnections.exe to the logondirectory of the Windows Server 2008 R2.
- Deploy pushprinterconnections.exe through GPO on the startupscript.

Aliases
  • Rootkit.MBR.Sst.B (Boot image) (BitDefender)
  • Trojan.DOS.Alureon (Ikarus)
  • Troj/TdlMbr-D (Sophos)

MS security essentials failed to protect (disappointed)

AVG failed to kill, it did killed one file which the virus infected, not the virus itself

tssdkiller and kapersky scan failed to run

nod32 detected it, but failed to kill it. the virus infected dns service, directed all searches to some dodge sites

loaded avast , avast detected it , and identifies as boot virus. But it couldn't kill it in the live system

eventually I pulled out the hard drive from a the lenovo PC, and put it in a USb enclosure, whooopppaa,  doing a scan from my notebook

kapersky reported the boot virus got killed, and MS security essentials also reported it killed the boot virus

after serveral rounds of scan, I put the hard drive back to the system , now I can do kapersky scan.

this boot virus / dns / search posioner is a mutant as well, coz it sometimes showing itself gone

I need boot from CDROM

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:12 p.m.] -- Agent K says:
The server has HP Embedded Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller (RAID 0/1/10). You have installed P212 controller and then the server is not booting to the OS, is that correct?

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:16 p.m.] -- Man In Black says:
not really. I had backup. I need re-install Xen 6.0 . But the server wont boot from CDROM drive. when I press F9, I can't get into BIOS settings

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:16 p.m.] -- Agent K says:
Or is it that you are no longer using the B110i controller but want to use the P212 >> created RAID and just want to install the OS but it is not booting from the CDROM?

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:17 p.m.] -- Man In Black says:
no, it is not booting from CDROM even if I removed the P212

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:17 p.m.] -- Agent K says:
Have you checked the boot order in the BIOS?

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:18 p.m.] -- Man In Black says:
that's another problem I am having. when I press F9, it showed me F9 pressed. and it seemed stuck there.

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:21 p.m.] -- Man In Black says:
I got into the bios once before I installed a new hard drive and the P212 card. now I un-plugged all the hard drives and P212 card. nothing got past the initial screen

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:21 p.m.] -- Agent K says:
In this case, we will need to clear the CMOS and check if it helps.

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:22 p.m.] -- Man In Black says:
how do I do that

[Sunday, 12 February 2012 12:23 p.m.] -- Agent K says:
