Hi,

Can you boot into Safe Mode? If so, please uninstall the installed updates in Safe Mode.

Otherwise, boot from a Windows Server 2008 SP2 or Windows Vista SP2 disk to run Startup Repair:

1. Insert the Windows installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD …". appears.
3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next.
6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on Repair your computer.
7. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
8. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Startup Repair.

If you cannot run Startup Repair, let’s run SFC in WinRE:

1. Put the Windows installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD …". appears.
3. Select a language, a time, a currency, and a keyboard or another input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
7. Type sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER.
8. Type Bootrec /RebuildBcd , and then press ENTER.
9. Type BOOTREC /FIXMBR, and then press ENTER.
10. Type BOOTREC /FIXBOOT, and then press ENTER.
11. Type Drive:\boot\Bootsect.exe /NT60 All, and then press ENTER.

Note: In this command, Drive is the drive where the Windows installation media is located.

If the system still cannot boot, you may focus on retrieving your important data on the problematic computer.

brand new WS 2012 R2 forest / domain and Exchange 2013 SP1 - active sync broken - not really

brand new WS 2012 R2 forest / domain and Exchange 2013 SP1 - active sync broken - not really

got caught out at this new setup,

when testing activesync (or mobile device) , I got error to connect, occasionally I got ticks on my exchange-setup on my iPhone. but I still couldnot get message.

the problem is I am using an admin privilege-ed user to do the test. a normal user is actually fine.

a good testing source  is Microsoft public exchange test site http://testexchangeconnectivity.com

it pin-pointed my testing issue.

so I enabled inherit permissions in AD, advanced view for the admin test user, all good
