you can create a usb disc

but I find out the HP notebook may not boot from it ; so press F2 ; you will see extended diag options

like video memory test

otherwise the BIOS test options are very basic

while doing something on my old HP notebook , the screen suddenly freezing and become mosaic

I reboot it , it initially showing windows logo , then black without cursor

boot the NB with windows PE , run chkdsk , fixed some file system errors

the PE screen looks ok

I did a generic HP BIOS check, it passed

then it can boot to recovery mode, it can even boot to safe mode

it just wont boot to normal mode

I did HP BIOS component video test, it showing video memory problem

I tried to boot in low-res video mode

no luck

install DLINK DFM-560E MODEM on my windows 8,.1 --- as standard modem

I had an issue with local Honda billing

so I decided to send them a fax about it

install DLINK DFM-560E MODEM on my windows 8,.1

w8.1 dont have driver for the dlink dfm-560e ; it does not even have drivers for xp

but a link tell me install it as standard 5600 kbps modem in xp

I did the same in w8.1 ; not very straitforward as the 56 k list  slowing up very slow for me to select

eventually installed it

and the modem self-diag is responding

so I composed a fax , alas ... the fax number listed on the Honda invoice is not working ...

look like fax is a thing of past
