eventually it is found out that a shortcut is pointing to a previous intranet website which is now remove.

remove this shortcut from desktop and the start-menu, everything is all good again,.

I used the vista driver in my desktop W7 PC, that crashed often, especially browsing chinese website.

now I manually updated the windows 7, ralink driver replaced the original driver. the connection rate increased from 11mpbs to 24~38mbps. the new problem is that the connection is not stable. sometimes it just drops.
quite annoying.

the dreadful problem that bugged me
got a problem with a user's outlook 2007. it is running on windows 7 pro. the problem is when she inserts a UNC hyperlink, the outlook is very slow to bring up the folder list on the remote server. she connects to the server via pptp-vpn.however explorer opens file folders much faster on the fileserver.

import outlook express files (like inbox.dbx) to windows live mail.

windows live mail need be downloaded and installed on w7.

copy outlook express files from w-xp to w-7. then import to windows live mail. this is straight forward.

however I got a problem import from live mail to outlook 2007. nothing imported from the live mail account to the outlook account.

then I have to import the outlook express to the outlook 2003 at the w-xp. copy the pst file over afterwards.
btw the .nk2 file is located at ...roaming folder, sent an email, search the .nk2
