luckily I got hold of a comment by their support , not their 0900 line though the toll bar is in place

to move a v5 database to another server and upgrade to v6 in the mean time is actually easy....

copy v5 database files / structure over to the new server,

install downloaded v6 install file, in the configuration console, change folder options where the active data is

then enter new server / client serial numbers ...

then you will be reminded to upgrade to v6, do that...

on the client PC, point to the new server IP, you will be prompted to upgrade, do that, and all done ...

shadow protect indicated that intel driver is needed for the nic. I choose ignore.

eventually co-worker pointed out that I should use uxp and download uxp package , unzip locally, and point uxp to load drivers,

phew ... I have to do that serveral times,

one new cool thing is the nic can be mutant, i,e it can become a usb nic when the driver itself not being installed.

another good thing is Shadow Protect IT key now allows 2 concurrent license connections

in a SBS 2011 domain, it seems it's hard to get old printer drivers via windows update.

I wonder some group policy is preventing that.

anyway, my round-trip way to do it is to use my work notebook. my work notebook can get printer driver like HP LJ 1160, then sharing it to the PC in SBS 2011 domain. in this case , the PC will get the printer driver like LJ 1160. then change the port in the PC to finish the weirdo job.

I am really shocked that a valid alias email address like enquiry@myboomer.com got rejected by the sbs server.

I entered the smtp address using the EMC

the issues is that one is rejected then the next one is passing through...

the error message is that the email address is not valid .. or something like that ...

I changed the default authoritive domain from myboomer.local to myboomer.com, the problem seemed to go away.

(BTW blogger.com is really pausing my typing)

after I moved the new SBS 2011 server, client PC got difficult to connect. I found out I plugged the cable to the wrong NIC port. after I put it in the right port, client PC still having difficulties.

I may click on fix my network tab to fix it, but I just restart the server again to fix it.

that's reminds me , years /ages ago, I had the same problem with Linux. if the switch powered on after the Linux box, the NIC just wont start even if if up cmds being used

I knew her iPhone used to be my previous work-phone. so I tried to get the serial number from exchange 2010 owa, in OWA, goto options, then devices. you will see devices configured for activesync. there is also an apple-id listed, that's the serial number.

I performed a remote wipe on this iPhone when she posted on FB , its pending.

if you configured exchange 2010 audit-logging, in the audit-log report, you will see the apple-id as well.
