office 365 exchange online likes windows 7 w/sp1 + outlook 2010.

if you have windows xp and office 2007, you better update to the latest patches.

the most annoying problem is outlook keeps asking for passwords,

after you done hours patching, you may still have issues.

you then logon to portal.microsoftonline.com , and download desktop apps.

that will make things much better.

for the first time , in the last 5 years, my years' hard-study knowledge finally got used. well, blush... blush MS desktop technician

install the quantum accounting package, pop in the small-factor CD, the installer complained that service pack 5 is required.

oh dear , what service pack 5? .... pulling my hair, open cd content , right-click on the installer, select compatibility mode, select compatible with NT4 service pack 5

woola, that worked, I can't belive this , there are other bits like install the license file and update to the later version to open the data file.

when a 3rd party program trying to open outlook, you will get a prompt like " a program open outlook" security risk.

to disable that, you need office adm / admx / adml pack which normally downloadable from Microsoft.

for server 2012, you may not import those adm packs, ironically you extract those adm and copy the admx/l to windows policydefinitions folder or copy to a central store

I don't really want to risk the central store options now. so I copied those locally on the RDS 2012 server, and yeah I uses gpedit.msc to tweak 3 reg values to 2

in these case, I downloaded office 2013 group policy template , 32 bit as I installed 32 bit office as recommended by MS

you install it via the install apps in the control panel

only enterprise  version is supported by MYOB on the terminal server.

so the MYOB premium version is supported by myself.

copy customized forms over, its easy, pointing to the data location its easy.

now the challenge is when Gem emails an invoice from MYOB, the company logo disappears.

so we asked around the MYOB experts what that could be......

when the deadline approaches , I googled frantically ,

the result is quite shocking, I need quicktime to make the  logo showing on invoice in email.

at the time of the writing, there is no x64 bit quicktime, I can't see a windows 8 quicktime either, anyway I downloaded w7 QT version 7.x.x

wooola....... it works I can't believe it

anyway, I did it without granting the MYOB local admin permission on the TS server as suggested by someone.

BTW , office 2013 32 bit works with MYOB, not x64 bit yet,.
