nephew's HP notebook got wiped , sister blamed ......

while on the internet, a message appeared , restart needed

and after restart everything is gone;

got /boo/bcd error

put in your installation desk...

I tried to repair over the phone, press F8, nothing seems to happen. eventually run the HP diagnostics, the hardware seemed fine

last nite, I physically started the recovery, no luck.... I found out the hard drive space used to about 500MB, everything is gone,...

finally decided press F11 to reload everything

backup up, backup and backup your data ... phew ..........

I got blamed for using Microsoft security essentials .... I failed to stop it ....

but this could be some physical fail?

a couple of their classmate with HPs also had this problem in the last couple of days....

I wonder HP got hacked or some cosumer notebook got defexcts

Microsoft User State Virtualization - the new UE-V

Microsoft User State Virtualization

MS add User Experience Virtualization (UE-V)  in addtition to Folder-redirection and offline files

Microsoft User State Virtualization includes several Windows technologies that together can provide a consistent desktop and application experience for a user across multiple Windows desktops. User State Virtualization provides access to data and personal settings on any device.
User Experience Virtualization (UE-V) synchronizes application and personal settings to a file share in your datacenter. This means that users can move to any device and the settings are copied to the device when required. Application settings are not handled as a single entity such as a user profile, but are treated as separate for each application and synchronized separately. This means that the synchronization task is a small, fast synchronization that occurs after changes have been made and the user locks the screen or logs off the desktop
By adding folder redirection,and offline files if required, users always have access to their data in the same location from every device, providing a seamless desktop experience while enabling users to roam from device to device, or ensuring desktop consistency in the case of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) pooled deployment
