To search WeChat group history, open the group chat, tap the three dots (top right), select "Search Chat History," then type keywords or filter by a specific member's name to find messages within that group, as history is stored locally on your device.
Searching within a Group
Open the Group Chat: Navigate to the specific group you want to search.
Access Chat Details: Tap the three-dots icon (More) in the top-right corner of the chat screen.
Select Search: Tap on "Search Chat History" or the search icon.
Enter Search Term: Type keywords, names, or dates in the search bar to find messages.
Filter by Member (Optional): For group chats, you can often input a member's name to see only messages from that person.
Key Things to Know
Local Storage: Your chat history (text, images, files) stays on your device until you delete the app or run out of storage.
No Server History (Generally): WeChat doesn't keep message content on its servers unless you favorite them.
Backup/Migration: To keep history when changing devices, use the "Backup & Migrate Chats" feature in Settings > General.
