outlook auto discovery - a huge topic - for me sbs 2011 server
its a standard installation
a public cert is used like remote.mybrake.com
what will happen when outlook connects from outside , it is broken by default.
the answer to get a san cert,
or add SRV record to your public dns server
if you can't setup OOF out of office reply , one possible problem is auto discover not working ( very new to me , tehehe)

- In your external DNS zone, remove any HOST (A) or CNAME records for the Autodiscover service.
- Use the following parameters to create a new SRV record:
Service: _autodiscover Protocol: _tcp Port Number: 443 Host: mail.contoso.com
