Azure Blob Storage lifecycle management is a feature that allows you to automatically transition data to a cooler access tier (like Cool or Archive) or delete it after a certain period. This feature is supported by a limited number of storage account kinds.

StorageV2 (general-purpose v2): This is the recommended storage account kind for most scenarios. It supports all the latest features, including lifecycle management. Therefore, storage1 can use lifecycle management.

BlobStorage: This kind of storage account is specifically for block blobs and append blobs. It is designed for premium performance and also supports lifecycle management. Therefore, storage2 can use lifecycle management.

FileStorage: This kind of storage account is specifically for premium file shares. It does not support blob lifecycle management because it is not a blob storage account.
