deploy n-able based MSP service to a small biz
outgoing ports should be open like 80,443,22
n-able probe and agent like .net 2 ( I should deploy .net 2 via group policy before this). anyway I put dotnetfix on a fileshare, and do the leg work.
I install .net 2 before I install the probe on the server 2003.
the probe is supposed to deploy the agents to the workstations, but it couldn't most of times because .net 2 wasn't installed.
end point security (n-able's version of panda anti-virus) won't install because the sonicwall thinks the upx package is dodgy. luckily I figure this out after their programmer told me he couldn't broswe the internet because there wasn't enuff licenses on the sonicwall. this client has 10 license with TZ 170. what a lime thing, these days still restrict licenses. the new tz 100/200 series is good to get rid of user licenses, the only limit is physical, ie, UTM throughput.
you better manually un-install symantec client and server before you deploy n-able's end point security. although end-point-security agent is sort of able to get rid of their compititiors.

I have spoken to Sunrise, but she asked me to talk to you about her Tax Management Problem.
Have you installed a full version of Access 2007 before installing Access 2003 Runtime?
If you have, we suggest you reinstall the Accounting Software on this machine and see if it does not rectify the problem.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Dlink 504T adsl router is not connecting
the dlink router was installed long ago.
now the the ethernet client is getting IP address
after a few restart of the router, the PC could get an IP address.
however the ADSL connectoin keeps dropping.
by looking at it, the physical uplink is sometimes zero,..
called ISP, the guy said try another modem ...
before I find another modem to try, the router connections seemed better after another restart...
I wonder the ISP guy increased the signal strenght at their end.
anyway i cleaned wall socket contacts,..

access 2003 and access 2007 runtime
their accounting package does support 2007 runtime yet.
so I have to un-install access 2007 runt time and install access 2003 runtime on Windows 7
The Software does not support MS Access Runtime 2007, you will have to use MS Access Runtime 2003.
To simply uninstall Runtime 2007 will not fix the problem as some components are still left on the machine. We suggest the following:
1. Uninstall MS Access Runtime 2007
2. Install Full version of MS Access 2007 (to replace runtime components not removed)
2. Unstall Full version of MS Access 2007 (to remove all components of 2007)
3. Install MS Access Runtime 2003 and run access-security utility
Please let us know if this resolved the problem.

check wan ip address -- I just copy from sonicwall admin guide
To test the HTTP policy-based route, from a computer attached to the LAN interface, access
the public Web site http://www.whatismyip.com and http://whatismyip.everdot.org. Both sites
display the primary WAN interface’s IP address and not the secondary WAN interface.
To test the Telnet policy-based route, telnet to route-server.exodus.net and when logged in,
issue the who command. It displays the IP address (or resolved FQDN) of the WAN IP address
of the secondary WAN interface and not the primary WAN interface.

then 40GB pst files got dumped between 4:33pm and 5:30pm
the whole mailbox dump like seemed take longer.
get-mailbox | export-mailbox -PSTFolderPath:'E:\mybottom\pstfiles' -Confirm:$false
PST dump in a real SBS 2008
35.8GB PST file data was dumped over gigbit network (or dont this matter?)
starting 9:10pm - ending 2:08 am.
the interest thing about exmerge (for exch2003), and the powershell dump scripts is the share session wont show in computer manager. in network monitor there is some non-consistent activity. in this case 0.6% ~ 3% over the gigibit link
