To search WeChat chat content, go to the main Chats screen, tap the search bar at the top, and enter your keywords to find messages, contacts, files, and more across all your chats. For a specific conversation, open the chat, tap the menu icon (top right), and select "Search Chat History" to find messages within that chat only. You can also search for specific types of content by using filters like people, groups, files, or images after tapping the main search bar.
General chat search
From the Chats tab, tap the search bar at the top.
Type keywords, names, or phrases related to the message or contact you're looking for.
Results will be displayed, including chat history, contacts, articles, and more.
Specific chat history search
Open the specific chat you want to search.
Tap the icon in the top right corner of the screen to open the chat's information menu.
Select "Search Chat History".
Enter your keywords in the search box that appears to find messages within that chat.
Advanced and filtered search
From the main Chats screen, tap the search bar at the top.
After entering a keyword, you'll see options to filter your search results.
You can tap on categories like People, Groups, Files, Links, or Images to narrow down the results.
For example, you can tap "Files" to find a specific PDF that was shared.
Other search-related tips
Save to Favorites: To save a message, image, or other item for easy access, long-press it and select "Favorite". You can find saved items under "Me" > "Favorites".
Unhide chats: If a chat is hidden, you can find it in the "Archived Chats" section at the bottom of your main chat list. You can also search for it by name.
