Enabling OSPF for IPv6 on an Interface

Perform this task to enable OSPF for IPv6 routing and configure OSPF for IPv6 on each interface. By default, OSPF for IPv6 routing is disabled and OSPF for IPv6 is not configured on an interface.

SUMMARY STEPS

1. enable
2. configure terminal
3. interface type number
4. ipv6 ospf process-id area area-id [instance instance-id]

Command or Action

Step 1 
enable
Example:
Router> enable
Enables privileged EXEC mode.
Enter your password if prompted.
Step 2 
configure terminal
Example:
Router# configure terminal
Enters global configuration mode.
Step 3 
interface type number
Example:
Router(config)# interface ethernet 0/0
Specifies an interface type and number, and places the router in interface configuration mode.
Step 4 
ipv6 ospf process-id area area-id [instanceinstance-id]
Example:
Router(config-if)# ipv6 ospf 1 area 0
Enables OSPF for IPv6 on an interface.
