The Xiaomi 12 doesn't connect to the PC by using a USB cable ~~~ here is my drama ~~~ after dropping the phone with a USB C cable connected

I dropped my Mi 12 phone with a short USB C cable connected

USB C connector got bit deformed ( it is for a philips power bank, labelled power only , I used for charging, but the phone previously asked me data mode / usb charging mode; but it stopped asking)

so I need test the Mi 12 USB C port working or not; I connected the original Mi cable, only charging, swipe down as outlined on the net, to select charging / data ; its not there

what a pain

so I tapped somewhere many times to enable developer mode , manually selected data from no data

the phone appeared on my computer screen

so I guess everything is ok, apart from the deformation on the USB C connector

If you're having trouble transferring data from your Xiaomi 12 Pro to your PC using a USB cable, please refer to the following methods:
1. After connecting a smartphone to a PC, the smartphone prompts options for [No data transfer][File transfer/Android Auto] and [Transfer photos]. Then tap on [File transfer/Android Auto];
2. Check if you are using the original USB cable since some USB cables are not capable of data transfer;
3. If you are using an unoriginal USB cable, ensure that the USB cable is in good condition and capable of data transfer;
4. If possible, check if another phone can transfer data with the same USB cable;
5. Use a different USB port on your computer. Sometimes, the USB port may not be in good condition;
6. Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall software on your PC and try again;
7. Restart both your PC and smartphone;
8. Try connecting your smartphone to a different computer to see if the issue originated from your PC;
9. Check whether the charging port on the smartphone is clean or in good condition;
10. Turn on Developer mode at first by navigating to [Settings] >> [About phone] >> tap on [MIUI version] multiple times (usually seven times) in quick succession. Then navigate to [Settings] >> [Additional settings] >> [Developer options]. Look for the [Default USB configuration] option and change it to [File transfer].
