problem removing a 2008 R2 DC from a 2008 domain
checked lots of things , no luck

there are two locations to check
AD Site ... un-tick "protect ,,,"
the other
ADUC, under object tab un-tick " protect ..."
if you can see object tab, goto view ... click advanced
