Conditional Access App Control is a feature of Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps that provides real-time monitoring and control over sessions with cloud apps. It works by routing user sessions through a reverse proxy. To function correctly, the web browser used by the user must be compatible with this proxy architecture.

  • Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome are compatible because they support the necessary extensions and proxy configurations that allow the Conditional Access App Control to intercept and control the user session.

  • Mozilla Firefox is not officially supported for use with Conditional Access App Control. While it can be used for general web Browse, it lacks the full integration required to be managed by the Conditional Access App Control policies
