remove windows 2008 domain controller from AD
the AD is now on server 2012 (not R2, leave room for exchange 2013)
in 2008, it still uses dcpromo to demote it. then goto server manager to remove adds
in the process, there was an error to remove this 2008 DC from AD, because the new feature to protect the object from deletion. you will have to un-tick it so the 2008 DC object can be removed by dcpromo.
